Description
Mollison Tonsil Dissector Uses
The Mollison tonsil dissector is primarily used in tonsillectomies to separate and retract the palatine tonsil capsule from its surrounding tissue bed without slicing adjacent muscle.
- Help with the separation of tonsillar tissue within the peritonsillar space.
- Remove infected tonsils to help prevent the infection from spreading to the neck.
- Retract the anterior or posterior tonsillar pillars to expose the dissection plane.
- Help relieve enlarged tonsils causing sleep-disordered breathing or sleep apnea.
