Kielland forceps Uses
Kielland forceps are primarily used for rotating and delivering the fetal’s head to facilitate complicated vaginal delivery during the second stage of labour.
- Rotate the fetal’s head from occipito-transverse (OT) and occipito-posterior (OP) positions into an occiput anterior position (OA).
- Assists in delivering the baby that is in breech position.
- Facilitates delivering the baby’s head when it stops progressing mid-pelvis in a transverse position.
- Precisely contours to the skull’s shape.
